Annie Sloan The Colourist Bookazine Issue #5
Annie Sloan The Colourist Bookazine Issue #5
The Colourist is a unique Bookazine (editorial like a magazine, no adverts like a book) dedicated to sharing Annie Sloan's passion for colour. It is a collectable, bi-annual publication featuring 132 carefully curated pages bound in a covetable cover.
In Issue 5 we focus on heat and spice; the theme centres on a joyful Chalk Paint® palette of Barcelona Orange, Emperor’s Silk and Antoinette and features exclusive photography from Annie’s trip to India in January 2020. Also featured are “30 Top Tips For 30 Years of Chalk Paint®”, creative lockdown projects by you, home tours and how-tos, career-changing women and the resurgence of chintz. Discover how furniture artists have been inspired by vintage colour theory diagrams, and travel the world of colour – literally and figuratively, from the spice markets of India to the Swedish Archipelagos.
Inside, you’ll find interviews with creatives Annie admires; discover beautiful furniture Annie loves; sneak peeks inside homes that inspire Annie; and travel to off-the-beaten-track destinations Annie has explored. All from the comfort of your home! The fun doesn’t finish once you’ve read the issue, either. Each edition also features a range of Chalk Paint® projects (suitable for all abilities, from absolute amateurs to Chalk Paint® connoisseurs) with easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions. Once you’ve closed the pages and with a new creative confidence you’ll definitely want to follow one of these how-to’s and bring some more colour and joy into your home!
Issue 5 includes a free vintage-style colour wheel poster designed by Annie’s son Felix Sloan. This educational and inspirational poster is the ideal addition to an artist’s workspace, or framed and added to a gallery wall for Cavallini-inspired charm. Learn more about the history of colour wheels in this issue as Annie takes a quick spin through their fascinating history.
