Hippie Dreamcatcher with Feathers and Crystals
Our Dreamcatcher with Feathers and Crystals will ad a beautiful native touch to your decor!
Dreamcatchers originate from the Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) culture as a "spider web charm" meant to protect infants in their cradleboards. The legend of "Spider Woman," or Asibikaashi, is associated with its creation.
Traditionally, the charm was intended to catch and hold harm or evil spirits in the air, similar to how a spider's web catches things. The later, more widely known folklore—that the web traps bad dreams while allowing good dreams to pass through to the sleeper—originated in the Pan-Indian Movement of the 1960s and 1970s.
Materials: Wooden hoop covered with velvet fabric, beads, feathers and crystals.
Dimensions: From the top of the hanger to the feathers, measures about 16".
